Laguna Beach, California – June 2024 – The Armenian International Women’s Association (AIWA)- Los Angeles hosted an exclusive private viewing at the Laguna Art Museum, showcasing an exceptional collection from esteemed board member Joan Agajanian Quinn. On the Edge: Los Angeles Art from the Joan and Jack Quinn Family Collection explores art from the 1960s to 2000s and the role the Quinns played in contributing to the history of Los Angeles art.
This private event took place on Monday, June 24th. “We are incredibly grateful to the Quinn family for their generosity in sharing their extensive art collection with Laguna Art Museum,” said Julie Perlin Lee, Executive Director of Laguna Art Museum. “The exhibition celebrates Jack Quinn’s legacy, Joan’s commitment to the arts and our mission of showcasing the California experience. By including artists like Jose PRIME Reza and Joey Terrill and curating works from the 1960s to recent creations, we are able to offer a fresh, dynamic experience for all our visitors.” Following the private viewing of the exhibition, guests enjoyed a delightful luncheon with breathtaking ocean views. This provided the perfect setting for members to connect, discuss the exhibition, and savor a leisurely afternoon together. “Joan is such a vital member of our executive board, and we are so happy to organize this event for our members,” stated AIWA-LA President Nicole Nishanian, who warmly welcomed guests to the luncheon held in the Rose Garden of Las Brisas Restaurant. Caroline Tufenkian of Tufenkian Fine Art stated “I’m so grateful to AIWA – Los Angeles for organizing the tour of On the Edge: Los Angeles Art from the Joan and Jack Quinn Family Collection. What a treat to get a private tour of the exhibition with Joan giving an inside perspective behind the artwork through her personal stories. The exhibit will be on display from March 24, 2024 – September 2, 2024.
