Award winning Armenian- American recording artist, songwriter, producer, TV host, Maria Cozette has flourished in the performing arts since the age of four. She has successfully released three albums and multiple singles, receiving praise from critics and solidifying a global fan base. True to her effervescent spirit, Cozette has interpreted her darkest moments into what can be heard as music with a light of hope. “The beauty of music is in its permanence. Although people change and the experience is long gone, the song remains the same.” The soulful-pop maven is a trendsetter and serves as a role model for young females.

In 2011, she noticed a significant decline in young viewership of Armenian television. Cozette pioneered the first English show to air on an Armenian media network, Music Box with Maria Cozette. The show went on to gain massive popularity. Parallel to her career in Entertainment, Cozette is a seasoned Marketing expert. The multifaceted starlet pursued a Master in Business Administration and graduated at the top of her class with honors. Thereafter, she launched a marketing consultancy firm and enrolled in USCs Organizational Change and Leadership program where she is currently a doctoral candidate. Her dissertation topic is gender inequity in executive leadership. As a youth advocate, human/ animal rights activist, and environmentalist, Cozette consistently utilizes her platform to convey a positive message, collaborates with charitable organizations, and emphasizes the importance of cultivating good leaders.

Inspired by trailblazing visionaries, Cozette created and executive produced a unique television program on Horizon TV, recently launched in Spring of 2019. The concept of The Maria Cozette Show mirrors the host’s character. She interviews professionals who exercise both sides of the brain- logical and creative. No matter the field of practice, guests discuss their artistic interests, creative outlets, or extraordinary hobbies. Her impressive line up includes C-suite executives, dignitaries, influencers, and educators.

Maria Cozette has been awarded the “Character & Ethics Award” by Glendale Unified School District; “Woman in Arts & Entertainment,” by former Senator Carol Lieu; and “Woman in Entertainment,” by the Armenian American Chamber of Commerce.

Q: What is your hope for the future?

My life’s purpose is to make a change with the knowledge and experience I have worked so hard to attain. I am always learning; always growing. Everything I do is with the objective to someday, evoke positive Change. Our world needs it.

Q: How has the Armenian Culture shaped/influenced you?

I believe that at the core of the Armenian cultural fabric are values. Our culture is grounded in being morally sound and those virtues have influenced me tremendously. I have always navigated my career ethically- determined that the architecture of my life would be something I would take pride in years from now.

Q: What is your favorite thing about being Armenian?

The very distinct qualities that are a part of the Armenian identity such as tenacity, innovation, and pride… These characteristics have very much fueled my ability to persevere no matter the circumstance and endure the many challenges that are associated with becoming a female leader.
