Dr. Anahit Danielyan
Today, we feature Dr. Anahit Danielyan, MD.
Dr Anahit Danielyan was born in Yerevan, Armenia and graduated from Yerevan State University in 1993. After the collapse of USSR and in the middle of blockade of Armenia she started her professional career as a Hematologist at Armenia Hematology Center. She finished her fellowship and went into practice afterwards. Looking back she often wonders how she survived those difficult years.
She applied for an externship and got accepted at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX in 1997. After passing all the required exams completed her Internal Medicine residency and chief residency at St Luke’s Hospital, St Louis, MO. After finishing she started working as a hospitalist for 4 years, then went into Primary Care in 2008. She is an Internal Medicine Doctor at St Luke’s Hospital as a PCP within the multi-specialty group. She lives here in St. Louis with her husband and her two daughters.
Q: What is your life philosophy?
My philosophy of life is that compassion and tolerance can save the world. Being in medical career you see that on daily basis but outside that I wish more people would live based on those standards. Medical career changes you and makes you realize the value of kindness.
Q: What is your favorite thing about being Armenian?
I am very proud to be Armenian and I love the family, friendship values in Armenian culture. I appreciate the resilience and optimism of Armenians. Overall, I think for all my achievements I am thankful to my Armenian upbringings.
Q: What thoughts do you have on our current global Covid-19 pandemic?
In the midst of pandemics we realize more that humanity needs to be combined and work together as a team. The COVID pandemic shows that the world is interconnected more than we think, and we need to really work together not only locally but globally as well.
