This conference is an all-in-one resource for your personal growth where you’ll hear inspiring talks, meet experts through networking opportunities, participate in skill-building workshops and walk away with a support network of Armenian women spanning the globe.
A welcome reception on Wednesday, October 4th at Tufenkian Hotel from 6 PM-7:30 PM and a gala dinner on Saturday, October 7th at Marriott starting at 6:30 PM are included in the conference package.
In addition, there are two add-on excursions: Armas Winery Tour on October 4th and a Day in Gyumri on October 8th.
Meet Keynote Speaker
Baroness (Caroline) Cox
An ardent advocate of human rights and a vocal ally of the cause of Armenians in Karabagh.
Baroness (Caroline) Cox became a Life Peer in 1983 for her contributions to education and has served as a Deputy Speaker of the House of Lords from 1985 to 2005. Lady Cox now sits in the Lords as a crossbencher and is a frequent contributor to Lords debates on Sudan, South Sudan, Syria, Nigeria, and Burma.
Baroness Cox’s humanitarian aid work has taken her on many missions to conflict zones, allowing her to obtain first-hand evidence of the human rights violations and humanitarian needs. Areas traveled include the Armenian enclave of Nagorno Karabakh; Syria; Sudan; Nigeria; Uganda; the Karen; Karenni; Shan and Chin peoples in the jungles of Burma; and communities suffering from conflict in Indonesia. She has also visited North Korea helping to promote Parliamentary initiatives and medical programmes. Additionally, Caroline has been instrumental in helping to change the former Soviet Union policies for orphaned and abandoned children from institutional to foster family care.
In recognition of her work in the international humanitarian and human rights arenas over the past twenty years, she had been awarded the Commander Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland; the prestigious Wilberforce Award; the International Mother Teresa Award from the All India Christian Council; the Mkhitar Gosh Medal conferred by the President of the Republic of Armenia; Caroline Cox also awarded St. Sahak – St. Mesrop Order of the Armenian Apostolic Church, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; and the anniversary medal presented by Lech Walesa, the former President of Poland, at the 25th anniversary of the Polish Solidarity Movement. Lady Cox has also been awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Honorary Doctorates by universities in the United Kingdom, the United States of America, the Russian Federation and Armenia.

AIWA-SF Day will highlight the many ways technology continues to impact our lives and the significant involvement of women. Focusing on the profound influence of technology on women’s empowerment and the incredible role women play in innovation and disruptive technology globally, this event features two-panel discussions highlighting successful women in IT/HighTech and female Founders of AI companies. The event also features two presentations that explore how cultural perceptions of women in High Tech shape Armenian society and share about AIWA’s HighTech scholarships dedicated to further empowering women in these fields.

Day 2: Mobilizing the Power of Women

In a time when the media and political landscape is shifting every day and business entrepreneurship is facing new challenges, globalization is giving women the opportunity to become more engaged in different spheres of the world. This day is designed for attendees to learn and understand through spirited dialogue of real-world practitioners, the link between theory and practice, social justice and human rights, leadership challenges and rewards of women playing a central role in creating conditions in which they can and will lead within all spheres of influence.
