San Francisco

Immediately following the AIWA conference held in San Francisco in October of 2011, a group of young professional Armenian women took the initiative with a great enthusiasm to establish an affiliate in San Francisco. They started ground work in late November of 2011, and the AIWA San Francisco affiliate was officially recognized by the Central Board of Directors on January 3, 2012. Dr. Susanne Moranian welcomed the group on board wishing them the very best in promoting the AIWA’s goals in the years ahead. Eight out of the ten women who launched the San Francisco affiliate, born and raised in Armenia, moved to the United States to pursue their graduate studies or fulfill their career aspirations. Today, they all are ambitious, successful young professionals, ready to give back to their country by empowering women in Armenia. The Affiliate is currently developing its internal structure and planning a launch event in the near future.
