Laurel Karabian Fund for the Arts
The Laurel Karabian Fund for the Arts is designed to assist and promote young artists and musicians in pursuing their goals and encouraging projects in all art disciplines within a symphony, opera, theater, and screen among an appreciative Armenian American community. It is earmarked to support cutting-edge, high-quality young and emerging female talents that reflect the creative aspirations of the Armenian-American community. The Laurel Karabian Fund for the Arts was established in honor and memory of Laurel Karabian, AIWA-LA’s first president.
With the formation of an Advisory Council, the Laurel Karabian Fund for the Arts will be accepting applications for funding for various disciplines of art. The newly formed Council members are:
Carla Garapedian, Producer and Filmmaker;
Greg Hosharian, Composer, Orchestrator and Keyboardist;
Karen Kondazian, Actress and author;
Vatche Mankerian, Pianist and Composer;
Karin Mushegian, Mezzo Soprano;
Caroline Lais-Tufenkian, Curator and Arts Professional
Also joining the Council are Madeline Karabian, daughter of the late Laurel Karabian. The Fund for the Arts is earmarked to support cutting-edge, high-quality young and emerging female talents that reflect the creative aspirations of the Armenian-American community.
